The estate home at 1106B Bradley Road in Gallatin has a safe room, but builder Cody Rothwell is keeping its exact location a secret.

This drone shot of the house at 1106B Bradley Road in Gallatin shows the pool, the pool house and the size of the property.

“You have to buy it,” said Rothwell, who operates the Landon Bradley home building company.

The house, which Rothwell recently completed, is now on the market for $2.9 million. The safe room, which offers protection in bad weather or emergencies, is just one of the features that set it apart from an ordinary house.

The house is designed as a modern farmhouse. It has two stories.

“It’s loaded” with luxury touches, said Coldwell Banker Lakeside Realtor Lisa Swint, who has the listing.

Some features, like the safe room and the “smart house” digital technology, are behind the scenes. Others are impossible to miss, like the reclaimed wood flooring, the dramatic spiral staircase and the motion-activated toilet seat.

The house has a dramatic spiral staircase.

“When you walk up, it raises up,” said Swint.

Rothwell’s favorite room is the chef’s kitchen, which features high-end appliances, a double island, a walk-in pantry, quartz countertops, double ovens, a wine cooler and an ice machine.

This view shows the kitchen, living room and patio.

“It’s an entertainer’s home,” he said.

When the owners move in, they will pick their own favorite spaces. The house has 5,839 square feet of living space that include five bedrooms and five baths.

The kitchen has a double island, quartz countertops, double ovens, a wine cooler, an ice machine and other luxury touches.

Someone who enjoys the outdoors will appreciate that Rothwell took care to preserve the large trees on the 6.45-acre property. A hunter will have no trouble finding a suitable spot for deer stands, said Swint.

“You’re in the country” in a neighborhood of homes on 5 to 10-acre lots close to Old Hickory Lake, she said.

The in-ground pool is heated for year-round enjoyment, although in cold weather the owners might prefer to sit in front of the wood-burning fireplace on the covered patio. A pool house with quarters for guests or family members is steps away.

The spacious office provides a quiet spot for working at home.

The pool has fountains in the shallow end, “so you always have the sound of running water,” said Swint.
