A Hendersonville man is dead after a boat crash on Old Hickory Lake, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reported.

About 6 p.m. on Friday, officers were notified of a possible missing person in connection to a boating accident on the Sumner County lake.

According to a preliminary investigation, a man left Creekwood Marina in a small jet driven boat.

A boater and friends enjoy an evening out on Old Hickory Lake in Wilson County.

The boat, driven by Jeremy Key, 52, of Hendersonville, was later found unoccupied going in circles. According to TWRA, it appears it may have hit a retaining wall.

Boating investigators later found Key's body in 12 feet of water, the TWRA reported.

Blood was drawn and will be sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for analysis.
